Rajinikanth's fans, who have been awaiting an update on the star's upcoming film Jailer, were excited when Sun Pictures, which is bankrolling the movie, came up with an unexpected surprise today morning. They announced that there is an exciting development which will be shared with fans in the evening.
According to sources, it was more or less expected that the makers are coming up with the release date update. Amid reports that the movie is hitting screens on August 11, the team revealed that the action drama will be released on August 10.
The promo video which was released along with the announcement has left Superstar fans overwhelmed as they feel their Thalaivar is back in style after almost two years. He is seen coming out of a stylish SUV and oozing swag, complemented by Anirudh's thumping music.
The video also has a glimpse of Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Jackie Shroff, Tamannaah and Sunil among others. Fans are hoping director Nelson Dilipkumar to have extracted the best from Rajinikanth as the film is crucial for both the filmmaker and the star. The respective previous outing of the duo failed to impress the audience.
Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveeran was announced as an August 11 release recently. It looks like the Madonne Ashwin directorial's release will be pushed a few weeks earlier. Movie buffs are now awaiting the next update from Jailer, which is likely to be a new poster or a teaser.
Hardcore admirers of Rajini have pinned high hopes on the movie especially after actors from other industries were roped in a few months ago.
