Team Jailer is on a high after the Rajinikanth-starrer opened to a huge response across the globe. The movie grossed around 90 crores yesterday, and the weekend collection looks promising. Director Nelson, who faced severe trolls for his previous outing Beast, is elated over his new movie's performance at the box office.
He has one more reason to rejoice now as none other than the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, has watched the film. The filmmaker took to his Twitter page to inform the same and expressed his excitement.
Nelson also posted a picture of him posing for a photo along with the CM. He thanked Stalin for watching Jailer and for the appreciation and motivation showered on him. The director added that the entire crew is jubilant over the unexpected reaction from the CM.
Fans of Rajini and other cinephiles are thrilled over the news of Stalin having enjoyed the film on the second day of its release. The last Tamil film he appreciated was Mari Selvaraj's Maamannan which has his son and Tamil Nadu Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare Udhayanidhi playing the lead in it.
Jailer is expected to surpass Beast and emerge as Nelson's biggest grosser by the end of this weekend. The movie is set to become the highest grosser of Rajinikanth in Tamil Nadu. However, it is unlikely to become the star's biggest ever grosser as 2.0 garnered fantastic numbers from the Bollywood market.
With humongous response from film buffs across south India, one has to wait and see how much the action drama will collect in the long run.
