It looks like there is no respite for the makers of Jana Nayagan, who are still continuing their legal battle with CBFC for the censor. The Vijay-starrer film, which was supposed to have released for Pongal on January 9, has been delayed and postponed indefinitely, with the next court hearing expected to take place on January 27.
Jana Nayagan: When will the next court hearing take place?
Jana Nayagan, the upcoming Tamil film which is expected to be actor Vijay’s final film before he becomes full-time politician, was slated for release on January 9 release. However, with the CBFC not issuing the censor on time, the film has been postponed ever since then. Subsequently, the makers had approached the Madras High Court.
The latest hearing which took place had reserved its orders, with a date yet to be announced. With the hearing not to take place on January 23, the next possible date is January 27, given the court does not function on January 26 on the occasion of Republic Day. This means, fans can forget the January release of Jana Nayagan, with all hopes pinned on February. However, only the orders of High Court will be able to give a clear picture on the status of Jana Nayagan release.
Will Jana Nayagan release in February?
The makers of Jana Nayagan have not announced any new release date, given the court proceedings are ongoing. The film, if not released in February, would get delayed by months, given Vijay will be contesting in the upcoming elections in Tamil Nadu. As per the code of conduct, Jana Nayagan would not be released, not to mention the politically-heavy dialogues in the film.
