Yogesh or 'Loose Mada' Yogi's 50th project 'Rosy' will have him play the role of a gangster and if the first poster of the film is to go by, we will get to see him in a stylish, rugged avatar. Shoonya, who made his directorial debut in 2022 with Head Bush, writes and directs this 'not-so-typical' gangster drama that is said to be based on a real-life incident. The film, along with the title, was launched earlier this year in May.
The latest development in 'Rosy' is that the team is set to reveal the chief antagonist of the film and that a big update is due this November 16th. What's more exciting, though, is that Tamil superstar Karthi is set to introduce this new character who, the makers share, happens to be a 'star Tamil actor' himself. Shoonya took to social media recently to share this update.
Karthi, of course, had his heist-action comedy entertainer 'Japan' hit the big screens on November 10th. The actor plays the eponymous titular character of a master thief who must evade the gripping chase from the police after having stolen Rs. 200 crore worth jewels. Anu Emmanuel plays the female lead with the cast also including Sunil, Vijay Milton, filmmaker K.S. Ravikumar, Jithan Ramesh and others. Raju Murugan has written and directed Japan which has opened in theatres to mixed to negative reviews.
Coming back to 'Rosy', the team recently found itself caught in a title clash issue, so to speak, when they learnt that another project, helmed by music composer Arjun Janya (directorial debut) bore a similar title. The latter, which stars Shiva Rajkumar, Upendra, Raj B Shetty and others, carries the title '45' at the moment but at the time of the said confusion/clash, it emerged that Arjun Janya & co. had registered the title as 'Rosy 45' at the film chamber. Soon after, leading man Yogesh and director Shoonya are said to have approached Shiva Rajkumar to grant them the title which was duly obliged by the 'Ghost' actor.
