Kiccha Sudeep’s next, Max, which has been in the making in Mahabalipuram, is about 75 per cent done. Not much is known about the cast of the film, directed by debutant Vijay Karthikeya, and the latest buzz is that Pushpa and Jailer fame Telugu actor Sunil is the antagonist. The casting was confirmed by producer Kalaippuli S Thanu, an announcement that netizens remained divided over.

Several netizens opined that it is good news and that Sunil is a great addition to the film’s cast. However, several others were less than impressed and added that he should not be the main antagonist. “Other Industry: Bring their outdated stars and give them second chance to make them explore more options. KFI: Ignore Kannada actors, Under utilize talented ones and bring some dude from outside whos presence wont even make our audience happy coz of their lip synch,” wrote one user. “Worst choice, thu yaak guru haal maadkondri,” wrote another.

Max also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Samyukta Hornad among others. The film is expected to be wrapped up shortly, as Sudeep will soon get busy with preparations for the next edition of the Kannada Chalanachitra Cup, followed by a new season of the Celebrity Cricket League as well. The actor is already juggling the shoot of Max with that of the Kannada reality show Bigg Boss that he serves as host on. Once he is done with Max, he will start #Kiccha47 with director Cheran, for which KGF-fame Srinidhi Shetty has been signed up as the leading lady.

Thereafter, Sudeep will return to the director’s chair with King Kichcha, a gangster flick that is being produced by KRG Studios. Sunil, meanwhile, for whom Pushpa became a career defining role, following which he has been doing a lot of negative characters in Tamil cinema, will also be seen in Prajwal Devaraj’s recently announced 39th film, Cheetah.
