Shah Rukh Khan’s fans, bounce with joy! The 57-year-old Bollywood superstar has created havoc at the box office in India as well as on a global level. In the latest development, Red Chillies Entertainment – the official promoter of the movie – confirmed that Jawan has minted Rs 907.54 crores on the worldwide scale within a span of just 13 days of its release.
Jawan’s performance at the box-office
On the 13th day of its release, the Atlee-directed film Jawan, featuring Shah Rukh Khan in a double role, along with actress Nayanthara and actor Vijay Sethupathi, has achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing the Rs 500 crore mark in total domestic box office collections across all languages. According to data from the industry box-office collection tracker Sacnilk.com, the film is estimated to have garnered Rs 14 crore on Tuesday. As of now, the film's cumulative domestic box office earnings in India stand at an impressive Rs 507.88 crore, after just 13 days in theaters.
Notably, Jawan had its theatrical release on Janmashtami, which fell on September 7. It made an astounding Rs 75 crore in India on its opening day and continued to surge, achieving its highest single-day collection of Rs 80 crore on Sunday. Remarkably, it raked in a whopping Rs 389 crore during its very first week in theaters. What's even more impressive is that the film has now crossed the Rs 500 crore milestone, all before completing its second week at the box office.
Interestingly, by the end of February this year, the movie Pathaan minted over Rs 1,000 crores at the box office globally. Only time will tell if Jawan will be able to shatter records created by Pathaan.
