Small-screen anchor, host Suma Kanakala, who's ruling the roost on the small screen and is the most sought-out name for the promotional events of every major Telugu film, is returning to feature films with a rural drama, Jayamma Panchayathi. Vijay Kumar Kalivarapu has penned the story, screenplay, dialogues and also directed the film. Balaga Prakash is producing the film under Vennela Creations. The team recently announced that Jayamma Panchayathi will hit theatres on April 22.

A new song from the film, Baagundi Kada, was unveiled by F3, Ghani actor Varun Tej commemorating Holi. RRR composer MM Keeravaani is the music director of Jayamma Panchayathi. Anirudh Suswaram and Neelima Shankula have crooned for the number lyricised by Chandrabose. The lilting melody reminds you of the simple, heartwarming music of the 90s with minimal instrumentation sans any fuss or chaos, offering enough scope to dig deep into its lyrical beauty and letting the singers drive the soul of the song into the hearts of music lovers.

Amidst an idyllic backdrop, Baagundi Kada starts off with the lines, 'Nuvvo Rekka..Arerere Neno Rekka..Rekkalu Rendu Kalipi Chuddam Inka..Manade Kaadha Chukkala Aakasam..' and it's impossible to not listen to it in repeat mode. The visuals set in a village with lush green landscapes are a sight for sore eyes and focuses on the blossoming romance between two teenagers, soaking in the bliss of their innocence and first love. The beauty of the song lies in the simplicity of the composition, the charm of Chandrabose's lyrics and the terrific singing.

Jayamma Panchayathi team will commence their promotions for the film in a few days and the makers plan to come up with regular updates about the rural drama soon. Devi Prasad also plays a key role in the film, while Suma is cast as Jayamma, a headstrong village woman. Anush Kumar is the cinematographer of the same, while Ravi Teja Girijala, Dhanu Andhuluri and Hari Priya are the editor, art director and costume designer respectively.
