Those who have followed Jayasurya’s career in the past few years would know that the filmmakers have finally managed to mine his talent to the fullest. So, it came as little surprise when he was picked as the Best Actor at this year’s Kerala State Film Awards for his role as Murali in Vellam.
Sharing his gratitude to all those who have supported him, the actor took to his social media page to post what the award meant to him and his feelings about receiving the honour.
“I am someone who knows that you cannot achieve anything alone,” wrote the actor, thanking everyone associated with the three films he had acted in the past year including Vellam, Sunny and Sufiyum Sujatayum.
The actor also went on to say that he doesn’t believe in competing with anyone in life, because contests always become about who finishes first. “That breeds jealousy, disappointment and animosity. More importantly, it destroys our peace. The lesson that I am learning now is to surrender with all your heart and that’s what I have tried with these movies,” he wrote.
Jayasurya also shared that the award has “definitely” made him happy and responsible. “More than that, I consider it a blessing to stand with talented artistes whom I respect and admire a lot,” wrote the actor, who had previously won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for Njan Marykutty and Captain in 2018.
The actor also thanked everyone who reached out to him as well as his family, who had stayed supportive through the thick and thin. “I hope to give back all this love through my movies,” he concluded.
