Jersey poster: Shahid Kapoor shares his 'favourite' picture with onscreen son Ronit, their bond steals hearts

The makers of the Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey have unveiled a heartwarming poster from the film. The upcoming sports film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in pivotal roles. The movie already has fans counting down to the New Year for its release. Jersey marks the comeback of the Bollywood star on the big screen post-pandemic after the resounding success of Kabir Singh.

In the latest poster, Shahid’s Arjun can be seen sitting down in front of his son Kittu (played by Ronit Kamra) and tying his shoelace. The child artist can be seen with a cricket kit on his back. Symbolic of the bond between Arjun and Kittu, the poster showcases yet another emotion of the film. The lead actor shared the latest poster through his Instagram handle and also wrote a heartfelt note in the caption. 

The latest post reads, “Being a father this is my favourite poster of jersey.

#Jersey (sic).”

The forthcoming movie is the Hindi remake of the 2019 Telugu film of the same that stars Nani in the lead role alongside Shraddha Srinath. The story of Jersey chronicles the journey and struggles of a failed cricketer, who also thinks of himself as a failed father. Jersey celebrates the human spirit with its raw, relatable tale.

The upcoming film has been helmed by the National Award-winning filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri, who has also directed the original version in Telugu. Jersey, which has been produced by Aman Gill, Dil Raju and S Naga Vamsi, is set to have a theatrical release on December 31.
