Jersey, the Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer, has been postponed once again. The film was set to hit the big screens on April 14, 2022, and now it will be released a week later on April 22, 2022. The film has been reportedly postponed to avert a clash with two big films, Yash Starrer KGF: Chapter 2 and Vijay Starrer Beast.
Aman Gill, who has produced Jersey, said in a statement that as a team, they have invested their blood, sweat, and emotions into Jersey, and want the film to reach as many people as possible. Thus, Jersey will now be released on April 22, 2022.
The film was directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, while Dil Raju, S. Naga Vamsi, and Aman Gill produced it. Jersey has been presented by Allu Arvind and produced by Dil Raju, S. Naga Vamsi, and Aman Gill.
The film was scheduled to be released on December 31, but was postponed at the last minute due to an increase in Omicron cases around the world.
Talking about the same, Shahid explained to Pinkvilla that Aman and he were very closely following Omicron and they knew it was building very quickly. They weren't expecting things to change so dramatically in such a short period of time, but when they did, they opted to postpone the release.
They didn't want to go with the film when the mood of the country wasn't appropriate. They made the best decision for the film's long-term chances. Shahid conceded that it was fantastic to see people go to the movies. However, several OTT players approached the Jersey squad with offers over the previous three months.
They did, however, hold off on releasing the film until it was ready for a theatrical release. They are confident in what they have done. This film was made with the intention of being seen on a big screen. Because of the film's emotional content, it's best to watch it with a group of people. Fortunately, Omicron completed the project quickly, and it was a difficult time because the producer's money was on the line. However, the makers of Jersey are now fully prepared and equipped.
