The accident he suffered turned out to be so dramatic and dangerous that it had his helmet run over by a truck while he was on the road at one point. Yes, you read that right. It was that serious. The accident dates back to 1988 when Keanu was riding his bike. But little did he know that he was about to experience an evening that he would later label as the "Demon Ride."

The John Wick star was cruising down Topanga Canyon Boulevard, a picturesque location between the Pacific Ocean and the Los Angeles Valley. It was when Keanu Reeves reached a twisted turn that disaster awaited him. “I call that a demon ride. That’s when things are going badly. But there are other times when you go fast, or too fast, out of exhilaration. I remember saying in my head, ‘I’m going to die’,” he told the publication.
The real drama began here. Keanu Reeves recalls what happened after the accident when he was left unaided for over 30 minutes in the dark with nobody offering assistance around him. It was at this point he said a truck ran over his helmet. “I remember calling out for help. And someone answering out of the darkness, and then the flashing lights of an ambulance coming down. This was after a truck ran over my helmet. I took it off because I couldn’t breathe, and a truck came down. I got out of the way, and it ran over my helmet.”
