Kaathal The Core – Jomol makes dubbing debut as Jyotika’s onscreen voice in the Mammootty starrer

Kaathal The Core has emerged as one of the most loved Malayalam films of recent times. The family drama, which features megastar Mammootty and popular actress Jyotika, in the lead roles, has been receiving rave reviews for its progressive take on homosexuality and relationships. Interestingly, the Jeo Baby directorial also marked the debut of senior actress Jomol, as a dubbing artist.

Jomol dubbed for leading lady Jyotika in Kaathal The Core

The Malayalam audience is going Gaga over Jyotika’s performances in Kaathal The Core, and is stating that the actress is the best choice for the role of Omana. Jyotika delivered one of the finest performances of her career in the film. Jyotika’s exceptional portrayal of the understanding wife and her unique onscreen voice garnered viewers' attention.

Interestingly, senior actress Jomol has lent voice to Jyotika’s character in Kaathal The Core. The Mayilpeelikaavu actress who has been staying away from films post her marriage, is now set to make a strong comeback to the industry. Jomol has taken the first step towards her comeback, by making her voice acting debut with the Mammootty starrer.

The netizens feel that Jomol did total justice to Jyotika’s portrayal of Omana with her perfect rendition of the powerful yet subtle dialogues. They also highlight how the Niram actress’s voice added freshness to the leading lady. Well, the unconventional choice made by the makers of Kaathal The Core, by choosing a fresh dubbing voice for Jyotika instead of a familiar voice artist, has worked wonders for the movie.

Jyotika’s casting in Kaathal The Core

As per the reports, it was Mammootty, who is both the leading man and producer of Kaathal The Core, who suggested Jyotika for the role of Omana. Even though the team considered many actresses initially, they decided to approach the Mozhi actress after Mammootty suggested her name. The megastar felt that the actress, who is a rarely-seen face on Malayalam cinema’s celluloid can do wonders with the author-backed role, that demanded a stellar performer.
