Kaathal The Core, the emotional drama that stars Mammootty and Jyotika, has been receiving immense love from the Malayalam cinema audiences. The project, which is helmed by Jeo Baby, has been widely praised by the audience for its progressive theme and brilliant performances.
Interestingly, the latest reports Kaathal The Core received a massive offer from an OTT platform for a direct release. However, Mammootty, who also produced the movie, turned down the offer.

As per the latest reports by Friday Matinee, a prestigious OTT platform which is planning to make its entry into Malayalam very soon, was keen to have Kaathal The Core as its launch project. The team approached actor-producer Mammootty with a massive offer, which was hard to resist. Even though the negotiations went to the advantages stages, the leading man finally decided to not opt for a direct OTT release.
The reports suggest that the megastar turned down the offer, as he was keen to release the Jeo Baby directorial at the theatres first. Mammootty always believed in the film’s content deeply and was very sure that the film would receive a warm welcome from the Malayalam cinema audiences. Well, the excellent reviews from both the audience and critics, as well as the decent performance at the box office suggest that the veteran actor was indeed right.
Kaathal The Core OTT release
Kaathal The Core will have its grand release on OTT, exactly a month after its theatrical release. However, it is yet to be revealed if the project will still emerge as the above-mentioned OTT platform’s launch project in the Malayalam entertainment industry. Mammootty played the central character Mathew Devassy, a retired bank employee and budding politician who conceals his real sexual identity in the movie. Jyotika plays the role of Mathew’s wife Omana in the Jeo Baby directorial, which stars Sudhi Kozhikode, Anagha Maya Ravi, Muthimani Somasundaram, Chinnu Chandni, late Kalabhavan Haneef, Joji John, and others in supporting roles.
