Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali’s release may come sooner than promised. The film, which marks the latest collaboration between Salman Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala, will reportedly be released on December 30 this year.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, the makers had decided to advance the release of the film by four months. It had been reported earlier last month that the film was eyeing a release date coinciding with Eid 2023.
If the new release date is confirmed, the film would be released during Khan’s birthday week. The actor’s birthday falls on December 27. The report also stated that the change in release date was due to the fact that the makers were keen on releasing the film around Christmas as well.
A source told the portal the upcoming film was a special project for both Khan and Nadiadwala, the latter having come up with the story himself. It is touted to be a ‘cross-cultural love story’, with the elements of comedy, drama, action and a social message. The film will mark the duo’s seventh collaboration together, after Jeet(1996), Judwaa(1997), Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega(2000), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi(2004), Jaan-E-Mann(2006), and Kick(2014).
The film’s shoot had witnessed delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the makers were looking to start filming during the first week of April, in Mumbai. The schedule would be a start to finish one, wrapping up in September after which the post-production phase would begin.
In addition to Khan, the film will also star Pooja Hegde and Venkatesh. The casting process is currently underway, and more Northern and Southern actors are expected to come on board for the film. Farhad Samji will direct Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali.
