Kadhalikka Neramillai release date: Jayam Ravi and Nithya Menen film makes the best use of Pongal window

While we had earlier reported that a romantic drama featuring Jayam Ravi and Nithya Menen titled Kadhalikka Neramillai is in the making, the makers on Wednesday announced the release date of the film. It is all set to hit big screens on January 14 for the occasion of Pongal.

With Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi staying postponed from Pongal release, it looks like the makers of other Tamil films are grabbing the opportunity to capitalise the festive window.

The latest film to join the Pongal race is Kadhalikka Neramillai starring Jayam Ravi and Nithya Menen in the lead roles. The film is all set to open in theatres on January 14 for the occasion of Pongal. The film is directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi who has previously helmed Vanakkam Chennai.

Kadhalikka Neramillai marks the first collaboration of Jayam Ravi and Nithya Menen as well as working with the director. While not much about the plot of the film has been revealed, it is touted to be a mature love story. The film will also feature actors Vinay Rai, Yogi Babu, Lal, John Kokken, TJ Bhanu, Lakshmy Ramakrishnan, and Vinodhini, among others. The upcoming film is backed by Red Giant Movies and has music by AR Rahman. The songs release so far, have been gaining good reception among netizens.

Kadhalikka Neramillai crew

The film is shot by cinematographer Gavemic Ary, with Lawrence Kishore in charge of editing. The first single of Kaadhalikka Neramillai has been crooned by actor-musician Shruti Haasan. The lyrics have been penned by Snehan. Kadhalikka Neramillai is produced by Red Giant Movies.

Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi last worked on ZEE5 web series titled Paper Rocket. The series is available for streaming on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium app. It starred Kalidas Jayaram, Tanya Ravichandran and others.
