A new Telugu indie feature film Muthayya, directed by first-time filmmaker Bhaskar Maurya, starring K Sudhakar Reddy, Arun Raj, Mounika Bomma, and Purna Chandra in the lead, has wrapped its shoot. The film is produced by Vrinda Prasad under Fictionary Entertainment while Kedar Selagamsetty and Vamsi Karumanchi present it on behalf of Hylife Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Muthayya, even before its release, has earned a rare honour.
Leading actress Kajal Aggarwal has launched the first poster of the film today on social media. The poster confirms that the film has been selected for a screening at the UK Asian Film Festival, one of the most prestigious and longest-running South Asian Film Festivals in Europe. The global premiere of Muthayya will be held at Rich Mix, London on May 9. The poster featuring K Sudhakar Reddy, has an old man staring at a big screen. The film comes with a caption that reads, 'It's never too late to dream big.'
Going by the poster, Muthayya appears to be a story of an elderly man, who fulfils his dream of becoming an actor in his later years. It's certainly refreshing to see a story centred on an elderly man and his ambitions. K Sudhakar Reddy, who stole the show as an incorrigible flirt in aha's web series Kotha Poradu, looks like an apt choice for this part. Divakar Mani, who has worked on films like Ninnila Ninnila, Keshava and Ranarangam, is the cinematographer and also the co-producer of Muthayya. Karthik Rodriguez has composed the music score.
The banner Fictionary Entertainment has also produced aha's celebrity culinary show Chef Mantra in the past.
