Kajol's 2025 film release calendar affected due to Ibrahim Ali Khan's Nadaaniyan? Here's what we know

Bollywood actress Kajol has a few exciting projects lined up for release this year. The actress will be seen in Sarzameen, Maa, and Maharagni. Her first film release for 2025 was reportedly Sarzameen with Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. However, the movie's theatrical release has reportedly been delayed because of Nadaaniyan. Instead of Sarzameen, the Netflix film will mark Ibrahim's acting debut. It is expected to be a summer release.

Changes in Kajol's 2025 film release calendar?

As per Mid-Day, the shooting of Kayoze Irani's Sarzameen was wrapped by 2023-end. It was reportedly set for a Republic Day 2025 weekend release. However, the film's release has reportedly been delayed by a few months.

"The film revolves around the sensitive topic of terrorism in Kashmir, with Ibrahim essaying an intense character. Karan, who has backed both Sarzameen and Nadaaniyan, felt it would be better to launch Ibrahim as a romantic hero and lined up director Shauna Gautam’s Netflix rom-com for a summer release. That also gives Kayoze the time to revisit his film, as Karan wants certain tweaks in it. The Kajol and Ibrahim-starrer will release probably in late 2025," a source told the tabloid.

Considering the same, Kajol's first release of 2025 will be the horror film Maa. Directed by Vishal Furia, the movie is said to be in its post-production stage. Maa, which has been backed by Kajol's husband and actor Ajay Devgn, might now be released in June or July this year. Devgn is apparently actively involved in the film's creative process.

Kajol to be seen in Maharagni

Besides the aforementioned movies, Kajol has filmmaker Charan Tej Uppalapati’s film Maharagni. Produced by Baweja Studios and E7 Entertainments, Maharagni is an action thriller film that also stars Prabhu Deva, Naseeruddin Shah, and others.
