Kalamkaval is already among the highest-grossing Malayalam films of the year. As it enters its second week, here’s how mu ch Mammootty’s latest film has earned in box office collections.
Mammootty’s Kalamkaval box office
The Malayalam movie Kalamkaval, starring Mammootty and Vinayakan, released in theatres on December 5, 2025, along with a bunch of lesser-known films. The worldwide collection of Kalamkaval is at Rs 58.5 crore in its first week at the box office, while India Malayalam collections stand at Rs 26.26 crore, as per trade tracker Sacnilk. The Jithin K Jose directorial, which depicts the method a serial killer, has been performing well even on week days. On its sixth day (Thursday) at the box office, Kalamkaval made Rs 1.95 crore
The Mammootty-starrer is in the 10th spot of highest-grossing Malayalam films of 2025, and looks to move ahead as Kalamkaval faces no competition even as it enters its second week.
No major Malayalam movies are scheduled for release on December 12, 2025. Honey Rose’s film Rachel, which was scheduled for release on Friday, has been postponed. A new date is yet to be announced.
The 1998 Malayalam film, Summer in Bethlehem, is re-releasing in theatres on December 12. The much-loved film featured actors Manju Warrier, Jayaram, and Suresh Gopi.
If it is able to maintain momentum even in the coming days, Kalamkaval would have a good second week as well. But it will face actor Dileep’s Bha Bha Ba, which will hit theatres on December 18, 2025. The film also features superstar Mohanlal in an extended cameo.
On the other hand, Mammootty’s first release of 2025 - Dominic and the Ladies Purse has finally confirmed its OTT release. The Malayalam film helmed by Gautham Vasudeva Menon will stream on Zee5 via OTTplay Premium on December 19, 2025.
