Kamal Haasan's condolence message to Mammootty, 'Your mother must have left the world with satisfaction'

Malayalam superstar Mammootty’s mother Fathima Ismail passed away yesterday (April 21) in Kochi due to age-related ailments. She was 93. Fathima was the wife of the late Ismail and Mammootty, her eldest son. Her grandchild includes Mamootty's son Dulquer Salmaan. Social media has been flooded with condolence messages to Mammootty and family.

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, too, expressed his condolences and wrote on his social media handle that Mammootty's mother must have been very proud of the great heights he has reached in his career and that she must have left the world with satisfaction. His tweet read, " Dear friend @mammukka, Heard of your mother’s demise. You are fortunate that your mother lived to see the heights you have reached . She must have left with great satisfaction. Only time will heal your pain . I share your grief (sic)."

Today, Mammootty and his son Dulquer Salmaan were spotted at the Kaloor International Stadium to offer namaz on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr. Video of the same is doing the rounds on the internet.

On the film front, Mammootty is currently working on Kaathal- The Core, in which he will be seen opposite Jyotika. The film, directed by Jeo Baby (who made The Great Indian Kitchen), is produced by Mammootty himself under his banner, Mammootty Kampany. The drama is gearing up to hit screens next month.

Meanwhile, Mammootty is currently shooting for Kannur Squad, which marks the directorial debut of cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Roby Varghese Raj. The film, which is also produced by Mammootty Kampany, will wrap up its Pune schedule soon and the team is expected to finish its final schedule in Wayanad by mid March.

Mammootty will also be seen in Agent, in which he plays a RAW officer tasked to capture a rogue agent. The action thriller stars Akhil Akkineni in the lead. Agent is directed by Surender Reddy and marks the actor's first Telugu film after a span of four years.

Mammootty is also working on Kannur Squad, which marks the directorial debut of cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Roby Varghese Raj. Mammootty Kampany has bankrolled this film as well.
