The first song from Kamal Haasan's Vikram will be released on May 11. Raaj Kamal Films International's official Twitter account announced the same. The tweet read, "Firing up Vikram's first Single on May 11th." Along with the tweet, a teaser video featuring Kamal and the words "Code Red" played out.
According to multiple reports, the audio and trailer will be launched on May 13. This is the first time Anirudh Ravichander is composing music for a Kamal Haasan film.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Vikram also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Kalidas Jayaram, Narain, Shivani Narayanan, Arjun Das, Hareesh Peradi, and Gayathrie Shankar among others.
Kamal Haasan was last seen in Vishwaroopam 2, which was released in theatres in 2018.
Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi was recently seen in Vignesh Shivan's directorial Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal opposite Nayanthara and Samantha. He will also be seen in Maamanithan.
Fahadh Faasil, on the other hand, was last seen in the pan-Indian film Pushpa: The Rise. He is also part of the Mari Selvaraj directorial Maamannan. In Malayalam, the actor has Malayankunju and Paachuvum Albhuthavilakkum coming up.
Vikram is co-written by Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rathna Kumar of Aadai fame. The film has cinematography by Girish Gangadharan and editing by Philomin Raj. Vikram, produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal International, along with R Mahendran, is set to hit screens on June 3. The film has Anbariv as the stunt choreographers, too.
Notably, this one has borrowed its title from the 1986 film, Vikram.
In an interview with Cinema Express, director Venkat Prabhu said he wanted to make a sequel to Vikram. "It was one of my favourite films. SP Charan and I had plans of making a sequel to Vikram with Kamal sir, but it didn't materialise."
Vikram was shot for 110 days.
