Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's much-awaited film Vikram hit screens on Friday (June 3). The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil sharing screen space with the Ulaganayagan. Suriya, too, makes a special appearance in the film. The film has music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, and editing by Philomin Raj.

The film, on the opening day, minted Rs 32 crore at the box office, out of which Rs 20 crore is said to have come from Tamil Nadu. And now, we hear that the team collected Rs 31 crores on its second day. The film had less than a ten per cent drop in the collection, which is said to be a rarity as a far as a south Indian film is concerned. Now that the team has already collected Rs 65 crore plus, it is said that the by the end of the opening weekend, the film would collect around 100 crore.

Now we hear that Vikram has got the third best opening in 2022 in Tamil Nadu, after Ajith's Valimai and Vijay's Beast. The film has already collected $500K+ on Saturday in the USA. It is said that the only other star who has got such an opening abroad other than the opening day is Superstar Rajinikanth.

In Kerala, it is said that the film is said to be one of the biggest hits ever. The Telugu version of the film, has also had a record opening in the collections of the film. The film has already made 65.50 crore with around 9.75 crore in Kerala, 6.75 crore in Karnataka and around 6.25 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telengana. Now that the film has got an excellent opening, it is expected to beat many records. This Kamal Haasan's first theatrical release after a long gap of four years. His last film to hit screens was Vishwaroopam II.
