The filming of Kangana Ranaut's upcoming project has commenced. The actress announced on her social media on Saturday that she has begun filming a psychological thriller. Although Kangana withheld many details about the unnamed film, she did disclose that the script is "very unusual and exciting." After an eight-year gap, Kangana and her Tanu Weds Manu co-star R Madhavan will reunite in this psychological thriller. The film will be directed by A L Vijay and the music will be scored by G V Prakash.
Taking to her X (Twitter) account, Kangana wrote, "Today in Chennai we started filming our new film, a psychological thriller. Other details coming soon. For now need all your support and blessings for this very unusual and exciting script."
Kangana also posted a photo of the mahurat shot on her Instagram stories, seeking everyone's blessings. “Need all your love and blessings for our new journey starting today, back with my many favourites,” she wrote.

The Queen actress was last seen in Tejas, which was directed by Sarvesh Mewara. In the film, Kangana portrayed an Air Force pilot who was sent to fight terrorism. The film, which was released last month and also had important performances from Anshul Chauhan, Varun Mitra, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Vishak Nair, was a box-office failure.
Kangana will next be seen in Emergency. In addition to starring in the film, the actress also serves as its director. Kangana will portray Indira Gandhi, the former prime minister of India, in the movie. In addition to Kangana, the film Emergency features Anupam Kher as J P Narayan, Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, and Shreyas Talpade as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the former prime minister.
Emergency will be released in theatres next year.
