Kangana Ranaut welcomes Koffee With Karan 7 on OTT - by claiming her nepotism episode got Karan Johar banned from TV

Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan 7’s first episode is just a few hours away from premiering on OTT. While the viewers wait for the episode, Kangana Ranaut joined the bandwagon and welcomed ‘Papa Jo’ on the platform. How, you ask? By recalling how her nepotism episode banned him from TV.

Kangana recalled how her episode – the nepotism episode – caused a stir. On Instagram, the actress pointed out that the episode caused Karan to be banned on TV.

The actress sent her wishes to ‘Papa jo’ but also linked his show’s OTT debut to a dialogue from Uri: The Surgical Strike. ‘Ghar mein ghuss ke mara tha na,’ a part of her Instagram story read.

Kangana claims that her episode is the most popular on Koffee With Karan. She further added that the filmmaker was banned from an awards show too because of the one episode.

Karan had invited Kangana to his talk show when the show was still in its fifth season. She had gone to promote Rangoon with Saif Ali Khan. By the end, the male actor was left clueless about what he was doing on the show.

Kangana had taken a dig at many, including her co-star Shahid Kapoor as well as the host of Koffee With Karan, Karan Johar. She called the filmmaker ‘the flagbearer of nepotism,’ stating that he has launched star kids in the industry the most and favours them.

Her statement sparked a debate on the internet and years later, viewers still take a dig at Karan. Throughout, Karan and Kangana shared a hot-and-cold equation, with them taking a dig at each other quite often.

Koffee With Karan 7 will premiere on Disney+Hotstar at 7 pm. The talk show will stream on the OTT platform every Thursday at the same time.
