Kannappa: Makers bank heavily on Prabhas to boost theatrical hype

Kannappa is the next big release in Telugu cinema post the success of Kuberaa. The period drama features Vishnu Manchu as the main lead and has cameos from Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal, and Prabhas. Now that there are only four days to go before the release, the makers are hyping up things by promoting the film under Prabhas's name.
Screentime of Prabhas in Kannappa revealed
The latest update is that Prabhas has close to 45 minutes of screen time in the film. One of the sources close to the team revealed to us that the Baahubali star makes his entry post the interval and is there until the end of the film. Vishnu Manchu is leaving no stone unturned to make the audience come to the theaters and is using Prabhas' name in a big way.
Most of the posters, interviews, and other film-related topics are centered around Prabhas only. As Prabhas has a massive fan following, the makers are expecting his fans to turn out in big numbers on the release day. Initially, there was news that Prabhas had only 25 minutes of screen time, but now the makers have increased his screen time.
The likes of Mohanlal are also seen in key roles in this film, and the same is the case with Akshay Kumar. How much the film depends on the cameos will only be known when the film comes out. Mukesh Kumar Singh has directed the film, which also has Kajal Aggarwal as the female lead.
Kannappa budget and OTT rights details
Made on a budget of Rs 200 crore, Vishnu Manchu is releasing the film on his own in several regions. The OTT rights are yet to be locked as Vishnu is playing the waiting game. If the film is a hit, the OTT release will be delayed, and if it is a flop, Kannappa will land on OTT within a month of its release.
