In a recent interview with OTTplay, Rishab Shetty spoke at length about the overwhelming success of his film Kantara. "My head feels totally blank at the moment," he said to enunciate that it has been quite tough for him to come to terms with Kantara's growth across the world. He would also describe the process of turning his film into a pan-Indian one as 'nightmare-ish' because, by his own admission, very few filmmakers have had to dub and release their films in 4 new languages within two weeks.
"I don't suppose I made this film or worked, in general, for the sake of success or box office results. Once the film started to do so well, I felt a sense of heaviness growing in me because it all occurred at such a rapid pace. I got lucky in one way as the promotions got underway and I was able to immerse myself in work - had it not been that way, I think it would have been really difficult to handle it all. I have never longed to be at home or felt like I needed a break from work but Kantara success overwhelmed me to an extent that I began to miss home for the very first time (laughs)," shares Rishab Shetty in the same conversation.
And it looks like, after all the basking and the revelling, Rishab has finally found the opportunity to take the much-deserved break from work. As seen on social media, the actor-director is currently in Dubai for some healthy rest & recreation and one small glimpse reveals the man-of-the-moment riding a swanky yacht against the city's bright lights and majestic buildings. To make things only better, one can hear the very popular Rebel Song from Kantara playing in the background as Rishab Shetty indulges himself with some away time.
In the same vein, the latest reports reveal that both Rishab and his wife Pragathi Shetty were felicitated by the UAE BUNTS community with the 'Bunta Vibhooshana Prashasthi' for their achievements in the field of cinema. Pragathi Shetty, apart from being the film's costume designer, also played a small role in Kantara.
In other developments, Kantara is on the brink of making history in Karnataka for multiple reasons. On one hand, the film is slowly catching up to KGF 2 with respect to box office collections in the state and once the film hits the Rs. 183 crores mark (gross), it will become the highest-grossing film in Karnataka of all time. Simultaneously, Kantara will complete 50 days of its theatrical run on Friday, November 18, and has every chance to create history by becoming the first-ever Kannada film to run for 50 days or more on all the screens it released on the first day. Hombale Films and the whole team of Kantara, including the cast Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, and others, are ardently looking forward to the historical day and why wouldn't they!
