Karan Johar and Dharma gear up for big announcement; Is it the Tiger Shroff - Rashmika Mandanna film, ask netizens

Filmmaker Karan Johar is back in the news and certainly for all the exciting reasons. While, on one hand, a new set of frivolous and candid stories unfold on the Koffee with Karan Season 7 couch, the producer in him is revved up about movie announcements. One such is to make its way out tomorrow, July 25 and with Karan Johar promising bloodshed, fans can't help but wait with bated breath for what's in store.

And thus began a guessing game on social media but with Karan Johar tagging director Shashank Khaitan in the same post, reports have now emerged to suggest that he is referring to the Rashmika Mandanna and Tiger Shroff project. Not long ago, Shashank Khaitan (Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania, Dhadak, etc.) and Tiger Shroff joined forces for their maiden collaboration with Johar's Dharma Productions bankrolling it. Touted to be an action-adventure that will surely cater to Tiger Shroff's fans, the makers were keen on roping in an exciting talent for the same: as per the exclusive Pinkvilla report, Rashmika Mandanna was brought on board to play the film's female lead. 

The same report also states that Tiger will sport a young and spunky look in the film and that the team has already wrapped up the announcement video, which is likely to release on July 25. The yet-untitled film, which is scheduled to go on floors in September, will be shot in India and in foreign locations.

For the Coorg girl Rashmika Mandanna, this upcoming project would be her maiden collaboration with Dharma Productions. Having made her debut in Kannada in 2016, Rashmika rose to unprecedented fame on the national level with her work in Telugu cinema. She will soon be making her Hindi debut alongside Amitabh Bachchan in Vikas Bahl's Goodbye and has already wrapped up the espionage action film Mission Majnu opposite Sidharth Malhotra.

Shashank Khaitan, on the other hand, has also directed Bedhadak, starring Shanaya Kapoor (daughter of Sanjay Kapoor), Gurfateh Pirzada (of Guilty fame), and Lakshya for the Dharma Productions banner.
