Karan Johar has sent a special birthday wish to Ayan Mukerji. However, it looks like the filmmaker has also addressed the boycott Brahmastra trend though his note for Ayan. He spoke about victory and how Ayan dedicated a whole decade to the Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer.

Karan compared his love for Ayan to his love for his twins, Yash and Roohi. He even ended up calling Ayan his child at the end of the note too.

The filmmaker then pointed out how Ayan worked on Brahmastra for a decade. He penned that while they cannot predict what September 9 holds in store for them, Ayan is already victorious because of his commitment and hardwork.

The statements come in the midst of boycott Brahmastra. Recently, netizens had decided to boycott Aamir Khan’s release Laal Singh Chaddha and the film has not worked at the Box Office, which has caused some fear in the industry.

Apart from Karan, Alia also wished Ayan on his birthday. She shared a photo from the sets, where she is seen in a candid with the director.

Brahmastra Part One: Shiva is the first installment in Ayan Mukerji’s Astraverse. The movie is being produced by Karan Johar.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are the first leads in the film. They play the roles of Shiva and Isha respectively.

The film also features Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles. It will also see Shah Rukh Khan in a cameo appearance.

Brahmastra Part One: Shiva releases in theatres on September 9 after four-five years of wait. The film’s OTT release date and platform are yet to be revealed.
