Directed by Ram Madhvani, this action thriller will feature Kartik Aaryan in a nuanced role that is expected to shed his image of starring exclusively in romcoms
Kartik Aaryan’s Dhamaka is one of the most anticipated releases of 2021. The actor, amid multiple controversies that seem to have engulfed him, is all set to portray a journalist who is making his comeback by live reporting a bomb blast. This action thriller, directed by Ram Madhvani, will feature the actor in a serious role. Recent reports had stated that Dhamaka will release in September on Netflix. However, latest updates have suggested that audiences won’t have to wait that long since the film is almost complete.
A report shared by SpotboyE revealed that the post production of Dhamaka is just about to get over and a few changes are to be made before the film can be readied for release. Sources have stated that only VFX needs to be added to the film. This was expected to be done much earlier but unprecedented delays occurred due to the pandemic. Netflix is rumoured to be looking at a late-July, early-August release for the film.
Fans are used to Aaryan’s characters of the charming womaniser, so Dhamaka will possibly transform the way audiences look at the actor if he nails his performance. Other reports have suggested that Dhamaka is going to be a game-changer for Aaryan since Madhvani’s direction helped bring out the best in the actor.
Aaryan’s character, Arjun Pathak, is going to be hosting a news channel called Bharosa 24 where he is making his return to television after multiple years of a hiatus from the world of journalism. Added to these stakes is the pressure of covering a live bomb blast that sends the journalist into a frenzy. A remake of the 2014 film The Terror Live, Dhamaka also stars Mrunal Thakur, Amruta Subhash and Vikas Kumar.
