KGF 2 combo of Hombale Films and Anil Thadani join forces for Kantara Hindi version

Following the thumping success of Kantara across the country, the makers have been prompted to expand the release of the film. As shared by Rishab Shetty himself, Kantara has managed to transcend cultural and regional boundaries and despite being a Kannada film, audiences from other regions have wholeheartedly showered love on the film. And to add a new dimension to this success, Kantara will soon be dubbed and re-released in other Indian languages and the first major stride in this regard will be made on the coming Sunday.

Yes, Hombale Films recently took to social media for a rather special reason and announced that the Hindi trailer of Kantara will be dropped on October 9. While the makers remained mum about the eventual theatrical release of the Hindi version of the film, netizens were certainly ecstatic about the prospects. 

Although some of them did express concern over the nativity factor and wondered if the film's folklore setting would be relatable to the Hindi cinema audiences, the rest acknowledged the fact that dubbing and releasing the film in a new language would only boost the box office collections.

And to make things better, Kantara (Hindi) will be distributed by the reputed AA Films. The same distribution company, which is owned by Anil Thadani, was previously associated with Hombale Films as the distributor of the Hindi version of K.G.F: Chapter 1 and K.G.F: Chapter 2 (along with Excel Entertainment).

Kantara, by virtue of its popularity, has become the first-ever South Indian film to release in the original language of its making in Mumbai's iconic cinema hall Maratha Mandir. In the same vein, the Rishab Shetty directorial is also the first Kannada film to release in Mumbai's Gaiety Galaxy cinema hall which has been dubbed into Hindi. As revealed by Mr. Manoj Desai (executive director of both cinema halls), Kantara is running to packed houses and the exhibitors are quite keen on continuing with the film for as long as they can.

Netizens are now keenly looking forward to learning more about the release of the dubbed versions. Although the makers are yet to reveal the exact strategy, one can expect the film to be dubbed into other Indian languages such as Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam (apart from Hindi) and released soon after in the respective regions.
