KGF: Chapter 2 - The gangster thriller, which is a sequel to the 2018 film KGF, featuring Yash and Sanjay Dutt, was released in Tamil Nadu yesterday, clashing with Tamil Star Thalapathy Vijay's Beast, which was released on March 13. As per sources, the sequel is bigger and better than the original one in terms of scale and story. The first chapter of KGF was a box office hit, breaking all box office records and setting a new benchmark in Indian cinema back in 2018.

Similarly, the much anticipated KGF 2 has been earning rave reviews from critics and audiences, particularly in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, reports claim that Vijay's Beast grossed around 36 crores in Tamil Nadu alone on its first day at the box office, with a total of 72 crores worldwide. Both fans and movie critics have given Thalapathy Vijay's film mixed reactions. Fans are watching the Day 1 box office success of Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 2 today, as the film owns over 45 percent of theatrical space in Tamil Nadu. KGF 2 is expected to garner more screen time in the following days, according to a News18 report.

As it has been released in Hindi and Telugu, Vijay's Beast is expected to perform better than any of his past films. According to many film analysts, as Vijay is a megastar with a strong fan following in Tamil Nadu, Beast screens in Tamil Nadu may only be impacted a small percentage of the time. People all around the world are enamoured by Rocky Bhai's stunning performance.

The number of people who have reserved seats for KGF 2 in India and abroad has been staggering. KGF: Chapter 2 is expected to gross more than 100 crores at the Karnataka box office within the first week of its launch. Meanwhile Beast is likely to gross more than 130 crores globally in its first weekend of release, including revenue from overseas markets.

As per media analysts, KGF 2 reportedly sold the greatest ever amount of tickets for any movie on BookMyShow in early sales—2.9 million. According to reports, the film sold 4.5 million+ bookings on BookMyShow on Thursday, whereas Thalapathy Vijay's Beast has sold 1.7 million+ tickets thus far.
