KGF: Chapter 2 – Yash makes an impressive opening in the US

Rocky Bhai has finally arrived and he is taking the box office by storm as expected. KGF: Chapter 2 is also doing big business in the USA box office and the premiere is minting big money. 

According to a post shared by Sarigama Cinemas on Twitter, the Kannada movie has collected over $800K on its first day in the USA. The number is not final as shows still remain to be completed in the country on its first day. 

Considering the number that has been confirmed by Sarigama Cinemas, who are the overseas distributors of the movie, KGF: Chapter 2 is expected to have gone past the opening day numbers Vijay’s Beast had put up only a day ago. 

Beast put up impressive numbers after its USA premiere, becoming the second highest grossing Tamil film for a US premiere. This was also a non-Rajini record in the USA. The final update by Hamsini Entertainment confirmed that the movie made $620,376 in 296 locations, with a few more locations to be reported. 

However, Beast is not expected to have put up the same numbers that Yash’s period action entertainer has pulled off. The movie is also reported to have a solid opening in India, with the makers confirming that over 40 Lakh tickets have been sold in pre-release sales. 

Directed by Prasanth Neel, KGF: Chapter 2 stars Yash in the lead role and Sanjay Dutt as the main antagonist. The movie also features Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Prakash Raj, Ramachandra Raju and Achyuth Kumar in other important roles.

KGF 2 is available in theatres around the country in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.
