Actress Shivangi Joshi took on the challenge of facing her fears head on in In Khatron Ke Khiladi 12, which can be streamed on Voot. The actress has become a familiar face in Indian television, having been a part of popular shows such as Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. But it seems that the actress has had to go through some tough times to reach where she is today. Joshi recently opened up about some hurtful comments thrown her way during the initial days of her career, by senior stars she worked with.
In conversation with ETimes, the actress opened up about when she and her mother moved to Mumbai so the former could pursue a career in acting. Joshi spoke of how little they knew about the city and how she used to scout the city in search of audiences. After acting in advertisements, she got a part in a TV show. Being inexperienced, Joshi had struggled to understand some of the directions given to her by her director. Although the director had been patient with her and explained everything, two of the senior actors she worked with had mocked her.
Joshi recalled how they had said ““Pata nahi Kahan se le aate hain”, and how they had gone on to say that the former might have been selected based on her looks and not her acting abilities. The remarks had hurt Joshi a lot and made her cry. Seeing her distraught, the actress’ mother had advised her to work hard and with sincerity so that even the people who mocked her would start to appreciate her efforts. Joshi had taken the advice to heart, and said that on the last day of filming the show, even the people who mocked her were sad that she had to leave.
