Khufiya announcement: Vishal Bhardwaj keeps Tabu, Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi in suspense with intriguing secrecy

Khufiya is one of the most anticipated films to be released on Netflix. Announced a couple of years ago, Vishal Bhardwaj's film has been among the much-awaited espionage thrillers on OTT. Now, finally, Netflix has announced that Khufiya is set to premiere soon with an exciting video featuring the lead actors Tabu, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi. The film is based on the book Escape to Nowhere by Amar Bhushan.

Mysterious script and secrecy surrounding Khufiya

In the video, Tabu receives a script with just thick lines, and Bhardwaj claims it's a "khufiya" script, while the filmmaker doesn't even narrate the script to Ali. On the other hand, Wamiqa is not even allowed to speak about the fact that she is working with him. Thus, even the release date of Khufiya is a well-kept secret as of now.

Tabu, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi feature in the upcoming Netflix original film Khufiya. Khufiya features an R&AW operator named Krishna Mehra (Tabu) as she undertakes an assignment of critical importance while also balancing her roles as a spy and a lover.

Ashish Vidyarthi plays a pivotal role in the film.

Tabu's perspective on Khufiya

Earlier, during an interaction with Outlook India, Tabu had spoken about Khufiya, saying that she became an actor because she yearned to contribute to a variety of narratives. She feels very fortunate to have the opportunity to delve into a unique narrative with the role she plays in Netflix's Khufiya. The time Tabu spent in collaboration with Vishal Bhardwaj was always well spent. The actor is thrilled to be a part of this exciting spy thriller because Khufiya is a special endeavour very near and dear to her heart. Working with VB again is like coming home for Tabu; it's so much fun!

Meanwhile, in a statement earlier, the filmmaker said that his goal in making Khufiya is to make an edgy spy film that balances the tedium of intelligence and surveillance work with the turmoil of inner strife.
