Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B, the second and final instalment in director Hemanth M Rao’s ‘intense’ love story, released in theatres on November 17. After the initial excitement among hardcore fans of the director and leading man Rakshit Shetty, on premiere day and, subsequently day 1 as well, the film has had a slump at the box office. Most of those who have seen the film have had good things to say about Side B, while a few aren’t entirely convinced about Hemanth’s story-telling. The making and the music, though, have been praised by all audiences.
Joining those who have showered team Sapta Sagaradaache Ello with praise is Kannada actor-filmmaker Kiccha Sudeep, who shares a good bond with Rakshit Shetty. Sudeep has been busy with the shoot of his next, Max, apart from his commitment as host of the ongoing season of Bigg Boss Kannada. But Rakshit wanted him to watch Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B and the best way to do that would be to make it available for Sudeep to watch in his home theatre, which is exactly what he did.
Having watched the film last night, Sudeep could not stop raving about it. After an initial social media post in which he described it as a masterpiece and that it was a pleasure to experience such a remarkable piece of cinema, with a lot of praise going to Hemanth in the accompanying message, earlier today, Sudeep added special mentions for the film’s leading ladies, Rukmini Vasanth and Chaithra J Achar. While he was appreciative of Rukmini’s “control and subtle approach” to playing Priya, Chaithra’s ease of handling a complex role is what caught his eye.
Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side A, which released on September 1 and then dropped on Amazon Prime Video within a month. Rakshit had said that Side B was yet to bag an OTT deal, but it is expected to land on the same platform at some point. The only question is whether or not it will be an outright sale, or if Rakshit will put it in the store only, for rental, as he has with the other language versions of 777 Charlie.
