Kiccha Sudeep is awaiting the release of his next, Vikrant Rona, which comes to theatres day after on July 28. For a while, the Kannada superstar has been saying that he is looking at collaborating with Vikrant Rona director Anup Bhandari on at least two other projects. The duo had announced Billa Ranga Basha, which was initially meant to be their first collaboration, as well as Ashwatthama, a modern take on the mythological character. There’s also the possibility of a sequel to Vikrant Rona, as the makers are looking at turning it into a franchise.

However, it had also been reported that he would be doing a film with Maanaadu maker Venkat Prabhu, after the filmmaker posted a picture at the actor’s house and praised his hospitality. “One of my next projects is with Mr. Venkat Prabhu who has made Maanadu and Mankatha in the past and he is a brilliant filmmaker. I am very excited to work with him, it's a brilliant script,” Sudeep was quoted as saying.

Now that Vikrant Rona is around the corner, the obvious question is what will Sudeep’s next film be? Will he do another film with Anup or is Venkat next. In an interview during the promotions of Vikrant Rona, the actor said that since Venkat is currently busy with some other project, their collaboration will probably take off in October and that he may squeeze in another film in the meantime. It is being rumoured that Sudeep also has a two-film deal with Sathya Jyothi Films, but there’s been no formal announcement on this. Kannada actor-filmmakers Rakshit Shetty and Rishab Shetty have also expressed that they’d like to direct Sudeep at some point. This though will take time, as Rakshit still has to finish his film Richard Anthony, while Rishab has a film with Shiva Rajkumar.
