Kiccha Sudeep’s K47 with Max maker Vijay Kartikeyaa; to go on floors on July 7
Kiccha Sudeep's K47: Sathya Jyothi Films will back the film that will have music by Ajaneesh Loknath; targeting December release

Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep’s 47th film, tentatively called K47, will be with the Tamil Nadu-based Sathya Jyothi Films after all. However, contrary to earlier reports that it will be directed by Cheran, K47 will reunite Sudeep with Max maker Vijay Kartikeyaa instead. The film was officially announced on July 5 with an animated teaser that promises an action-packed extravaganza. The team will go on floors on July 7 and are targeting a December 2025 release. Max was a Christmas 2024 release and was one of the biggest hits of the year.

Speaking at the movie’s official launch, Sudeep said that his focus is on giving his Kannada audience a film they want to see. The actor also expressed gratitude to the banner for giving him the opportunity to collaborate with them. K47 was earlier meant to pair Sudeep with Srinidhi Shetty, but Vijay’s teaser doesn’t provide any hint if there will be a love interest for the actor this time around. During the promotions of HIT3, Srinidhi had said that her film is on hold and that she's not heard from the production house in a while.
Talking about Vijay, Sudeep said that when the filmmaker met him to narrate the script of Max, he did not immediately have the confidence that someone like him could pull off an action thriller like Max, and this was strictly based on the first impression he had based on the director’s personality. “But then he impressed me with that one line, which we then worked for another 8 months to give the story more finesse,” said Sudeep.

This time around, though, Vijay did not need that kind of time for improvisations to his script. Those 8 months that he spent working on the final draft of Max was a learning for him about what Kannada audiences need and expect of a superstar like Sudeep. “This time, there were minimal changes, as he’s come with a complete package. I was highly impressed by the story that he’s written,” he added.
