The shocking truth has been revealed. King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer. Buckingham Palace confirmed the news on February 5 on their official website. The confirmation note reads that King Charles III went to the hospital for a routine check-up for prostate enlargement. He returned home yesterday, and within no time, Buckingham Palace revealed the news.
Buckingham Palace also shared that the King has already begun a course of medical treatment, following the advice of his doctors to temporarily step back from public duties. The treatment follows some hospital procedures. But shockingly, the King remains committed to his official responsibilities and will continue to handle state business and paperwork. He is quite optimistic about the treatment and looks forward to resuming his public engagements as soon as possible.
Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96 in 2022, her eldest son, formerly Prince Charles III, ascended the throne as King Charles III. He has assumed the duties of monarch and continues to reign over Britain. Notably, 2022 marked Queen Elizabeth II's historic Platinum Jubilee, celebrating an unprecedented 70 years on the throne. This momentous occasion was met with worldwide recognition and celebration.
According to some US media, King Charles III was admitted to the hospital for a prostate enlargement procedure. His daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, was also hospitalised at the same time and underwent abdominal surgery. However, Kate's illness has not been revealed.
Soon after revealing the news, netizens flooded, wishing a speedy recovery for the King. The UK's opposition Labour Party leader Keir Starmer wrote, “On behalf of the Labour Party, I wish His Majesty all the very best for his recovery. We look forward to seeing him back to swift full health.” UK’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak wrote, “Wishing His Majesty a full and speedy recovery. I have no doubt he’ll be back to full strength in no time and I know the whole country will be wishing him well.”
