Koffee With Karan 7: Karan Johar sets the record straight on not inviting Taapsee Pannu this season

During the promotions of Dobaaraa, Taapsee Pannu was bombarded with questions about not being invited to Karan Johar's chat show, Koffee With Karan Season 7. During the season finale of the talk show, the filmmaker was asked by Kusha Kapila about not inviting the actor.

The influencer-actor asked, "A lot of actors who have had critical success over the last two years have not been called on to Koffee With Karan. One of whom is Taapsee Pannu. Is there some sort of vetting process to do?"

To which Karan replied, "No, I mean it's 12 episodes. You've got to choose combinations that add up. I'll just tell Taapsee when I'll request and ask her to come on the show where we can work out an exciting combination, and if she declines me, I'll be sad."

Earlier, when Taapsee was asked about it, she said during an Instagram live session, "I have a boring life. What will you ask me? Which linkups, which relationships? All the exciting parts of my life are out in the open. But that's not exciting enough to be said on that kind of show. It can be spoken about on a news talent show."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Karan is back in the director's chair with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The filmmaker has reunited Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt on the big screen with the romantic comedy. The film also features veteran actors, namely Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in supporting roles. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is set to be a 2023 release.

Talking about Taapsee, the actor will be making her debut as a producer with the horror thriller film, Blurr. The film is directed by Ajay Bahl and also features Gulshan Devaiah as the male lead. She also has Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan? opposite Pratik Gandhi.
