Tamil directors have been surprising film buffs of late with their get-togethers. The latest one happened at Mani Ratnam's home and the visitors were Shankar, AR Murugadoss, Gautham Menon, Sasi, Lingusamy, Karthik Subbaraj and Lokesh Kanagaraj. Shankar's debut film Gentleman completed 30 years in the industry recently, and the meeting was to celebrate his journey.

Karthik Subbaraj took to his Twitter page to post a picture featuring the eight of them, leaving cinephiles enthralled. Some of them dissected their careers and debated on who among them had the highest success rate.

A few others were interested in the box office performance their movies put up. There were also those who expressed excitement on who is leading among all in the present time. A few years ago, some of these filmmakers along with others were spotted at Mysskin's house. The occasion was to celebrate Shankar's 25th year in the cinema.

The filmmakers who attended the get-together sported blue shirts as a dress code to make their meeting colourful. Atlee, Mohan Raja, Vasanthabalan, Pa Ranjith and Pandiraj participated in the get-together. The photo which was clicked then went viral in no time.

The likes of Vetri Maaran, Pa Ranjith, Dharani and Santhana Bharathi, too, came together a few months ago at Kamal Haasan's residence. The speculation of the Ulaganayagan joining hands with Vetri and Ranjith intensified after the pic was out. Kollywood fans are elated about the unity among directors in the industry.

They opine that leading actors should take an example from the directors in maintaining an egoless relationship with each other. The pre-release event of Lingusamy's The Warriorr was another occasion in recent times where many Tamil directors expressed their admiration towards each other.
