Today is the Kranti trailer day – an occasion that fans of Challenging Star Darshan are eagerly awaiting. So far, the team has only provided fleeting glimpses from the film, including in the three songs that have been released. And while they have spoken at length about the subject of the film – akshara Kranti – with Darshan’s character fighting to save a government Kannada medium school, the trailer is expected to give audiences an idea of what to expect when the film hits theatres on January 26.
The trailer is being launched today at a city multiplex in Bengaluru to a select audience following which it will make its way to dBeats YouTube channel. As has been the practice so far, the Kannada trailer is expected to drop first, with the other language versions then being made available an hour or two later.
There is a lot riding on the trailer of the film and the team is counting on it striking the right chords with audiences. The first look of the film had been massively trolled for the shot of Darshan pulling a bike with one hand, while having an ice lolly. The trailer’s success will boost the film’s prospects, given that Darshan is releasing it without the support of mainstream media.
Kranti is Darshan’s second film with director V Harikrishna and producers Shylaja Nag and B Suresh after their earlier collaboration, Yajamana. The film pairs him with his Bulbul and Ambareesh co-star, Rachita Ram. Also on the cast are V Ravichandran, Achyuth Kumar, Girija Lokesh, among others.
Kranti is Darshan’s 55th film. He is currently working on his 56th with director Tarun Sudhir, produced by Rockline Venkatesh. The as-yet-untitled film pairs him with debutante Radhana Ram, the daughter of veteran actress Malashree and late producer Koti Ramu. After that, the actor is likely to reunite with team Kranti.
