In July, reports online claimed that actress Kriti Sanon is likely to play a key role in fashion designer Manish Malhotra's upcoming directorial – which is based on late actress Meena Kumari’s life. If this news comes out to be true, then it will be the first time that Manish will be directing a film for the big screen. While an official confirmation on the development is yet awaited, actress Kriti Sanon has recently said something about it.

Kriti Sanon on working in Meena Kumari’s biopic

On Wednesday, Kriti Sanon paid a quick visit to the Hindustan Times office, a day after bagging the prestigious national award for her outstanding performance in the movie, Mimi. At the office premises, she candidly interacted with the team of the news outlet and detailed her journey in Bollywood so far.

While speaking about it, the 33-year-old actress was asked to comment about the reports which claim that she is a part of Manish Malhotra's upcoming directorial that is based on late actress Meena Kumari’s life. To this question, Kriti clearly said, “Honestly, I can’t say much about it right now. Yes, I would love to do a biopic on her life. Something on her is being scripted. It is in the scripting stage. Hopefully, the script will be ready soon.”

Whether she would like to work on her biopic, pat came her reply. “Honestly, it is a life story not too many people know about, especially from our (current) generation. I feel we must know about her,” Kriti summed up.

Kriti Sanon’s National Award moment

Soon after bagging the National Award for Best Actor (Female) for her performance in Mimi, Kriti took to social media to thank the team of the film, her parents, and her fans. “The feeling is not easy to describe in words... Today will be one of the most memorable days of my life!” wrote Kriti on Instagram.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, actress Kriti Sanon will next reunite with actor Tiger Shroff in filmmaker Vikas Bahl's science fiction action film Ganapath, and will later star with actor Shahid Kapoor in an as-yet untitled romantic comedy.
