L2 Empuraan shoot update – Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Kerala schedule plans are revealed

L2 Empuraan, the highly anticipated Mohanlal starrer, which is helmed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, is one of the most-awaited upcoming projects of Malayalam cinema. The third schedule of the action thriller, which is a sequel to the 2019-released blockbuster Lucifer, was recently wrapped up in the USA. The team is set to kickstart the next schedule filming in Chennai, very soon. Now, the sources close to L2 Empuraan have dropped some major updates on the film’s upcoming Kerala schedule.

L2 Empuraan Kerala schedule update is out

If the reports are to be believed, director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team are planning to have extensive shooting schedules in Kerala’s capital city Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi, for L2 Empuraan. According to the grapevine, Prithviraj and his team are planning to have the film’s longest schedule in Thiruvananthapuram, where the Malayalam superstar’s portions as Stephen Nedumpally will be filmed. Some unconfirmed reports also suggest that a massive introduction sequence is being planned for the leading man, just like the first installment, Lucifer.

In that case, it is also safe to assume that along with Mohanlal, all the main star cast members of the franchise, including Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Sai Kumar, Baiju Santhosh, Shivaji Guruvayoor, and others will be a part of the upcoming Thiruvananthapuram schedule. However, the Kerala schedule will go on floors only in the last phase of the film’s shooting, after the team wraps up the Chennai schedule and the pending foreign shoots.

L2 Empuraan release plans

If things proceed at the same rate, the entire filming of L2 Empuraan is expected to be wrapped up by the end of July 2024. Director Prithviraj Sukumaran and his team are planning to have an extensive post-production schedule for the film. In that case, the Mohanlal starrer might hit the theatres across the globe by the beginning of 2025, after a massive promotional campaign.
