L360 – Mohanlal confirms his next film with Tharun Moorthy will begin shooting in April | Check out the superstar’s post

After receiving a mostly unenthusiastic reception for his previous outing Malaikottai Vaaliban, superstar Mohanlal is all set to make a strong comeback with his next exciting project. As announced earlier, Mohanlal will be teaming up with Operation Java-fame director Tharun Moorthy for his 360th film.  

The superstar has now taken to his social media handles to announce the project by sharing a pic of himself along with director Tharun Moorthy, producer M Renjith, and writer K R Sunil. Along with the photo, the actor also revealed that the film will officially kick-start shooting in April 2024. Seeking prayers and well wishes from his fans, the superstar shared this exciting update on his handle. “Looking forward to working with Tharun Moorthy and M Renjith for my 360th film. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, the film is scripted by KR Sunil and the director himself. The project is produced by M. Renjith under Rejaputhra Visual Media. Appreciating your prayers and well wishes as the shoot begins this April (sic),” the actor wrote.

Mohanlal-Tharun Moorthy film is based on a fresh script

Though no other information about the film has been disclosed yet, cinephiles had been earlier speculating that the upcoming film is a revived version of Benz Vasu, the project which the duo had initially planned on working. For the unversed, Mohanlal and Tharun Moorthy were originally supposed to work on a project titled Benz Vasu, which was said to be a remake of the 1980 Malayalam film, starring legendary actor Jayan in the lead role. However, the project got shelved due to undisclosed issues. However, sources close to L360 have now confirmed that the actor-director duo is teaming up for a fresh subject and that it is not a revised script of Benz Vasu.

L2: Empuraan to Barroz - Mohanlal’s exciting lineup

Meanwhile, the complete actor has some of the most exciting projects lined up for this year. Apart from the new project with Tharun Moorthy, the actor will also be seen in Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial film L2: Empuraan, which is the sequel to 2019 blockbuster Lucifer. The Neru actor will also be starring in Jeethu Joseph directorial Ram: Part 1 and also in popular filmmaker Joshiy’s Rambaan. Apart from making a cameo appearance in Vishnu Manchu’s fantasy drama Kannappa, he will star in director Sathyan Anthikad’s untitled family entertainer as well as Mohanlal’s very own directorial debut film Barroz.
