Robert Zemeckis’ Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks became a groundbreaking masterpiece following its release in 1994. Aamir Khan is starring in the Hindi remake of the movie, which is gearing up for a release. Ace filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli has now shared his thoughts about the remake.

Taking to Twitter, Rajamouli said that he “can’t wait” to watch the movie in theatres and that Aamir Khan is going to “rock it” as he returns after a gap of four years. The director also added that he loved the movie’s trailer and also wished the team the best.

The makers released the movie’s first trailer earlier this week, and it has received mixed reactions from the fans. While some believe that Aamir Khan and the team can do justice to the original, others think the makers have gotten things wrong. The trailer has over 41 million views on YouTube.

Laal Singh Chaddha is helmed by Advait Chandan with an adapted screenplay written by Atul Kulkarni. Backed by Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom18 Studios, the coming-of-age comedy drama also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya, Mona Singh and Manav Vij among others. The movie is slated to hit theatres on August 11, 2022.

Robert Zemeckis' Forrest Gump follows the titular character, who ends up in some of history's most pivotal moments, often influencing them by accident. The film saw Tom Hanks in the lead, with Robin Wright, Gary Sinise, Mykelti Williamson and Sally Field in other roles,

Aamir Khan was last seen in the critical disaster, Thugs of Hindostan, which was released in 2018.

Rajamouli’s latest, RRR, recently created a number of box office records following its much-anticipated release. Crossing over Rs. 1000 crore at the box office, the movie also received glowing reviews. RRR is now available to stream on ZEE5 in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada with the Hindi Version available on Netflix.
