Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who also owns Red Giant Movies, was allegedly interfering in the promotions of Leo starring Thalapathy Vijay.
Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming movie Leo is one of the biggest releases of 2023. As the movie nears its release date, rumours have also started flying thick and fast from all directions. According to the latest rumour, Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who also owns Red Giant Movies, allegedly was interfering in the promotions of Leo.
Udhayanidhi Stalin interfering in Leo's promotions?
Popular Tamil political commentator Savukku Shankar has courted a controversy by accusing Udhayanidhi Stalin of using the state machinery to extort lucrative deals from the producers of Leo. He has shared a news report claiming that the Tamil Nadu government has denied permission to hold the audio release event of Leo at the Nehru stadium. Further, the report alleges that the DMK-led government was "arm-twisting" the producers to give the movie's distribution rights in Chennai, Chengalpattu, North Arcot and South Arcot to Red Giant Movies in exchange for permission to host the music launch event at the said venue.
The news soon gained momentum and widespread attention on social media upsetting the fans of Vijay.
Produces rubbish the news report
However, Seven Screen Studio, the producers of Leo, issued a quick statement, denying such demand or interference by the government with the promotion of the movie. "Sir, this is to clarify that this news is not true..," tweeted Seven Screen Studio, putting rumours to rest.
When will Leo's audio launch take place?
According to reports, the producers of Leo have already secured the required permission to hold the audio launch event at Chennai's Nehru Stadium on September 30. An official announcement on the same is awaited.
Earlier, producer Lalit Kumar revealed Vijay's interest in holding the audio release event outside Chennai . There were also rumours about the producer's plan to launch the movie's music album at a grand event in Malaysia.
