Made on a reported budget of Rs 300 crore, Thalapathy Vijay's Leo has already made profits for its producers with its pre-theatrical revenue

Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming movie Leo is breaking records even before its release. The film has crossed the $3 million mark from its pre-sales in the overseas markets, which is a new record for a Tamil movie.
According to Cinetrak, the movie has earned Rs 25 crore so far from its ticket sales in the international markets. With eight more days before its release, the earnings are likely to grow further.

According to the trade, North America is the biggest contributor to Leo's overseas earnings. So far the movie has earned over $1.3 million in pre-sales there. The opening weekend numbers for the movie at the US box office might look a lot bigger following its release.
The producers are giving a big launch for Leo in the US, where it will be released on about 1000 screens. This will be the biggest-ever release in Vijay's over three-decade film career.
The presales of the movie are also tracking well in the UK, Europe, the Gulf region, Australia and Malaysia.
Producer Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio earlier revealed his plan to secure about 30,000 screens worldwide for Leo. If it happens, this will be the largest-ever release for an Indian movie.

Netflix buys Leo for a record price
Made on a reported budget of Rs 300 crore, Leo has already made profits for its producers with its pre-theatrical revenue. According to reports, Netflix is said to have acquired Leo's streaming rights for a massive sum.
Leo is now in the final stage of the post-production. Composer Anirudh Ravichander is working on the re-recoding.
The filmmakers have also planned massive promotions for the movie, including pre-release events planned in Dubai and Hyderabad.
Leo is due in cinemas on October 19.
