Leo's co-writer Rathna Kumar unintentionally revealed Thalapathy Vijay's pay for the movie in a recent interview.
Thalapathy Vijay is one of the most highly-paid stars in the Indian film industry. And his pay scale has consistently gone up reflecting his ever-expanding market value in the world of entertainment. He has also received a hefty paycheck for his upcoming movie Leo.
Leo's co-writer Rathna Kumar unintentionally revealed Vijay's pay for the movie in a recent interview. While talking about the movie's top-notch production value and its huge scale, he recalled a comment made by director Lokesh Lanagaraj. According to Lokesh, the grandeur of Leo doesn't lie in the snow-covered landscape of Kashmir or other production elements, but in Vijay's screen presence.
"A friend visited us while shooting in Kashmir. He revealed how the urge to capture the beautiful locations and production value on camera through wide-angle shots affected the movie's emotional impact in an earlier Vijay movie. Lokesh then said if we are getting someone (for the film) by giving Rs 130 crore, then that person is the grandeur," Rathna Kumar said in an interview with a YouTube channel.
Vijay's big paychecks
Leo is Vijay's second movie with director Lokesh after Master. According to reports, Vijay received a whopping Rs 80 crore for that 2021 movie. However, his pay has almost doubled for his next movie, which is temporarily titled Thalapathy 68.
According to reports, AGS Entertainment is paying Vijay an astronomical Rs 200 crore for Thalapathy 68 , which is written and directed by Venkat Prabhu. Thalapathy 68 is now in production.
Leo is one of the most-activated movies of 2023. With just 10 days before its release, the anticipation around the movie continues to grow. Besides Vijay, the movie also stars Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Priya Anand, Mysskin and Gautham Vasudev Menon in key roles.
