Vijay Devarakonda has a massive following and that was proved with his film Liger. Though the film flopped at the box office, Vijay was welcomed with open arms and everyone in India loved his performance. The talk show, Koffee with Karan made him an even more popular name with ladies India-wide and producers are still after him for big projects.

Vijay was been keeping a low profile post the debacle of Liger. But just a few days back, he announced a Telugu biggie #VD12, a film written and directed by one of Telugu cinema’s finest storytellers Gowtam Tinnanuri who earlier made Jersey in Telugu and Hindi with the same banner. We have come to know that the film is a period drama and Vijay will be seen as a cop.

Apart from this, we have exclusively learned that Vijay has been paid a bomb as remuneration for this film. Though Liger flopped, it did not affect Vijay's market in Telugu and the producers of VD12 paid more money than what Vijay got for Liger. Not many know that Vijay's producers earn big bucks with the non-theatrical rights of all Vijay's films and that is the reason, they pay him big money for this film. The gossip is that Vijay has been paid close to 17 crores for this film.

He will have a transformation in this film which will showcase him in a serious avatar. The pre-production of the film is already on and the makers are in plan to take the film on floors this summer once Vijay wraps up his new film Khushi co-starring Samantha. The project was put on hold as Samantha had health issues. Very soon, the film's new schedule will go on floors.
