For Naslen-led Alappuzha Gymkhana, Ganapathi S Poduval sported a beefed-up boxer’s role as he flexed his muscles in the ring. It is a far cry from his child artiste role in Vinodayatra, which is still known for his ‘paalum pazhavum’ song. The actor has been part of several recent Malayalam films. Mammootty headlines this film as Francis aka Pranchiyettan, who is struggling to make a name for himself despite being rich. After several of his attempts have disastrous consequences, he decides to help Pauli, a brilliant student but struggles to clear the SSLC exam. Ganapathi plays Pauli in the film and his scenes with Jagathy Sreekumar as Pandit Deena Dayal are a delight to watch.
Apart from playing one of the key roles of doctor Faizal in the movie, Ganapathi also co-wrote the script. Basil Joseph headlines this film as Joymon who comes to Kerala as he does not want to spend his birthday alone in Canada. Lal, Arjun Ashokan, and Balu Varghese play other key roles in the film, helmed by Chidambaram.
Biju Menon leads this film as Chengal Reghu, a local thug in Kerala’s capital city. When some lads seek his help after one of their friends get beaten up, Reghu sets out to seek revenge. But they need to travel to the other end of Kerala to exact revenge, setting the stage for a hilarious trip.
Chidambaram's film follows a bunch of Malayali youths as they head to Kodaikannal for a fun trip that soon takes a disastrous turn as Subhash falls into the cave. The rest of his friends refuse to leave him to his fate and rally to get him out, even when they hardly get any support from the authorities. Ganapathi joins an ensemble cast of Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Deepak Parambol, Balu Varghese, Lal Jr., and Khalid Rahman.The film is streaming on JioHotstar.
