From Emergency to Yudhra, Bollywood theatrical releases in September 2024

Here's a sneak peek at the highly anticipated Bollywood releases for September 2024, starting with Kangana Ranaut's portrayal of one of India's most iconic figures in Emergency.

Emergency - September 6

Kangana Ranaut co-wrote the screenplay for Emergency with Ritesh Shah; the film is a biographical political drama. The actor plays Indira Gandhi, the former prime minister of India, in this drama based on the Indian Emergency. In supporting roles, the film also stars Vishak Nair, Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, and Satish Kaushik. The film is based on actual events that occurred in 1975. One of the most influential women in Indian history, Mrs. Indira Gandhi, is the subject of this biopic, which details events that occurred during her administration.

The Buckingham Murders - September 13

Hansal Mehta helms the criminal thriller The Buckingham Murders, which Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shobha Kapoor, and Ekta Kapoor produced. Kareena plays a British-Indian investigator who grapples with grief upon receiving the case of a child murder in Buckinghamshire. On October 14, 2023, at the 67th BFI London Film Festival, the film made its global premiere. A British-Indian investigator Her assigned case is the murder of a 10-year-old in Buckinghamshire, and the assignment reopens old wounds for Jasmeet Bhamra, a police officer and single mother who had just lost her child in a shooting spree. 

Binny and Family - September 13

The coming-of-age film Binny and Family features debutante Anjini Dhawan, Pankaj Kapur, and Gandhar Babre in lead roles. Ssanjay Tripaathi is the man behind the camera and the script. Compared to her orthodox grandfather, who hails from a small town in Bihar, Binny, a troubled, punkish, and defiant teenager from London, couldn't be more different. However, a shocking event in their lives unites them. Do you think they have what it takes to become friends and mutually beneficial? An intense coming-of-age story that follows two generations, Binny and Family will take your emotions on a wild ride.

Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam - September 20

Saurabh Dasgupta directs, and Laxman Utekar and Rishi Virmani write the romantic comedy film Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam. The film's main stars are Aashim Gulati and Dhvani Bhanushali. After a successful career in music, Dhvani makes her Bollywood debut with this film. Saregama serves as the record label, with Kathputli Creations and Vinod Bhanushali's Bhanushali Studios Limited producing the movie. Through the lens of an unplanned romance, the film investigates the subgenre of romantic comedies aimed at young audiences. Innocently conveying a love story about a wedding crasher who falls for the bride, the film offers a message to all viewers.

Yudhra - September 20

Ravi Udyawar helmed, and Shridhar Raghavan wrote the action flick Yudhra. Farhan Akhtar and Akshat Ghildial provided the dialogue. Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment co-produced it. It features an ensemble cast that includes Raghav Juyal, Malavika Mohanan, Ram Kapoor, Raj Arjun, and Shilpa Shukla.
